The purpose of Men's Ministry at the Sidney Evangelical Free Church is to connect men to Godly men; growing them in Christ and seeing them do the same with other men they know.

The Evangelical Free Church of Sidney believes that Christian men need each other. Men need vital relationships with other committed Christian brothers in order to grow in their relationship with Christ. Because of this conviction, we offer men opportunities to join with other guys for times of fellowship and spiritual growth. These opportunities include:

Ministry:

  • Men's Bible Studies
    • "Facing the Giants" by David Jeremiah with Don Cruise
      Mondays, 6:30 P.M. at the Church
    • "Older and Wiser" with Jim Dickman
      Tuesdays, 8:00 P.M. at the Church
    • Old Testament Survey with Pastor Doug
      Wednesdays, 7:30 P.M. at the Church
  • Accountability Groups - 2-4 men meeting together once a week to just open their hearts to one another. This is either done before work or after work.
  • Saturday Morning Breakfast - Quarterly - We use to update on upcoming ministry or events or new ideas.
  • Men's Retreats - We have had men's retreats at Promisekeepers and Table in the Wilderness Ministries in the mountains of Wyoming.
  • Wild Game Feed - Held in February or March. This is used for an evangelistic outreach.
  • Prayer Vigil in Church Library on Good Friday starting at 12:00 P.M. (Noon) in half hour increments until 12:00 A.M. (Midnight).

Service:

  • Single Ladies Car Care Service - Done in September or October. Single ladies and single mothers getting their cars ready for winter get a free inspection of lights, tires, battery, antifreeze, all fluids, etc. We do no mechanic work but we suggest mechanics in our community. We serve free donuts and coffee while they wait.
  • Service Projects: We help people move, help re-shingle roofs, and do projects around the church.
  • Valentine Brunch: We honor ladies and their guests by hosting a brunch served by our men.

Activities:

  • Trap Shooting - usually in October before Pheasant Season
  • Trap Teams - spring and summer leagues
  • Golf - get together every Monday night through Spring and Summer
  • Basketball - Thursday nights at the E. Free Fellowship Center - also a basketball tournament in the Spring.
  • Motor Cycle Riding Group
  • Dads' & Kids' Kite Flying - usually in May; fly kites with your kids at the church. Hot dogs and chips are served.
